A set of 3 coloured leaded glass panels for the door and fanlight – we spent a lot of time working with our client as well as visiting the joinery contractor who was making the door, to ensure everything would work together.  We were all very pleased with the final result.  Our client noted: ‘The door looks amazing, I am really happy with it. It has totally transformed the house for me and I have received 4 compliments already and sure there will be plenty more.  Thank you again and Im glad I came to you to get it done :-)’

The door panels are set behind laminated glass.

Stained glass restoration, London

These 2 panels in a porch are around 2000 x 350mm, and were damaged and deteriorated due to subsidence in the building.  We were commissioned by the structural repair contractor to remove them for restoration, by means of disassembly and rebuilding, replacing the broken/missing pieces of glass.

Our client noted: ‘Thank you for all your help and patience that looks very good.’

A contractor to us local asked that we produce these 2 panels for one of their clients for whom they had made and fitted the new door and frame. The contractor supplied the templates. We worked direct with their client to finalise the design, and fitted the set with outer protective panes of laminated safety glass.

Stained glass house number fanlight, Clapham

This replaced plain glass over the door, and was to a pattern to generally reflect the original glass in the street, slight simplified.  The number itself is not painted - its made from a piece of white flashed glass - clear glass with a very thin layer of white opal glass fused onto the back - which is then sandblasted away to form the actual numerals, and then filled with a permanent black resin.  The pastel colours are all in English Muffle glass.

Stained glass front door, Herne Hill

The openings in this door has been filled in with panels of mdf, which we removed and replace with laminated safety glass, before installing the new stained glass panels, to a design we worked up with our client, using a typical set of Victorian pastel colours for the diamonds.  The small circles are uncoloured roundels and we have a combination of sage green and amber in the central motif.

New stained glass, Catford

The original glass in this door and side panels has been replaced with imitation leaded glass (where the pattern and colour are applied to a single sheet of glass by means of stick-on lead strips and coloured lacquers) which was both faded and broken.  We prepared a design based on the original which our client had previously researched.  The set was fitted behind laminated glass for security and extra support.  The uncoloured glass is Corella glass whereas the pale blue and amber are in English Muffle glass – we like the subtle contrast in textures this combination provides.

Our client commented:  ‘Thanks for everything to do with the glass - it's wonderful!’

Renovated leaded glass door panel, Morden

This panel originally was made from uncoloured ‘bobbly’, ‘hammered’ or ‘pebble’ glass, much of which was broken.  We decided to replace all of this glass new, since the original material has not been made for many years and the alternate has a pattern that is really too fine and small.

Replacement leaded lights for Fulham

The project, part of a complete house refurbishment arose through architects with whom we had worked previously in the area.  All the joinery was replaced new, and the contractors supplied templates for all the openings to be glazed with new leaded glass to the original design.  Safety glass was fitted into all the openings ahead of the stained glass panels.

Stained glass house number SW19

The original opening casement was removed to increase the area available for the new leaded glass panel, which was designed to complement the existing glass in the door.  It seemed wasteful to dump the wooden casement, so it was stripped and a hanging, shelved mirror created to fill the space - upcycling!.
